HOW TO BRIGHTEN SKIN AFTER A NIGHT OUT

HOW TO BRIGHTEN SKIN AFTER A NIGHT OUT

‘Tis the season of Christmas parties, yearly drinks with friends, colleagues, family members and acquaintances - and New Year’s Eve celebrations. All fun and games until…you notice the effect on your skin. Too many late nights and glasses of Champagne can take their toll on your face and can cause your skin to start looking dry, dull (not exactly party ready) and in need of serious brightening. Here’s our tried and tested method to brighten dull, dry skin after a night out. HOW ALCOHOL AFFECTS SKINOne of the biggest affects that alcohol can have on the body is dehydration, which manifests on your skin as dryness and a dull, ruddy tone. As nutritionist Jairo Rodriguez told Vogue, alcohol takes all the fluid out of the skin, which can lead to more wrinkles, and it also inflames the tissue – causing redness in the skin. This is exacerbated by the lack of sleep you experience after a night out, with sleep deprivation affecting collagen growth, skin hydration and skin texture. Glasses of champagne on metal tray TIPS FOR BRIGHTENING DULL SKIN1. Slept in your makeup? We’ve all been there. Use a cream cleanser to gently remove makeup and surface debris. Our Replenishing Cleansing Lotion is gentle and replenishing, plus it helps calm the skin if you’re feeling a bit of sensitivity.2. After cleansing, spritz a facial mist (our Purely White Skin Brightening Mist helps to hydrate and restore glowing skin) and increase skin hydration further with Activating Water Essence.3. Apply a serum and restore skin moisture with a rich cream such as our Moisture Replenishing Day Cream or a face oil, and brighten the eye area with Purely White Skin Brightening Eye Correcting Cream. Eyes still not looking their best? Read our guide to get rid of tired-looking eyes.4. To brighten skin, avoid artificial whitening ingredients in favour of natural ingredients (such as Kakadu Plum Extract, which can be found in our Purely White range) which reduce discolouration and provide vital nourishment to your skin.5. For a natural way to brighten skin, hydrate from within. Aim to drink 2L of eater every day, especially after a night out.6. Catch up on the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep a night as soon as possible.7. Prevention is better than damage control. Try and keep up with your skin care ritual morning and night to nourish your skin, helping you to bounce back quicker after a big night. THE ULTIMATE PRE-WEDDING SKIN CARE REGIME

THE ULTIMATE PRE-WEDDING SKIN CARE REGIME

You’re engaged, the wedding countdown is on and you’re deep in the planning stages – what dress to wear, what menu to have, what song you’ll dance your first dance to, and where you’ll be jetting off to for that all-important honeymoon. One of the last things on your list is probably your skin care routine – that is, of course, until the night before when you’re desperate to get rid of any blemishes or brighten up your complexion. Skin cells regenerate every 28 days, so plan out your skin care regime month-by-month for the best results (and don’t forget to sneak in self-care each day). To help you have clear skin for your wedding day, discover our tips below.SIX MONTHS BEFOREPlanning a wedding can be stressful, so in the lead up it’s important to take time to relax and unwind. Aside from being harmful to your mental health, stress can have negative impacts on your skin, causing you to break out or skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis to flare up. Try getting a yoga class in once a week or do a few minutes of meditation each night before you go to bed.Six months before is also the time to start on your pre-wedding skin care routine. See a dermatologist or go for a facial to address any pressing skin care concerns (book in to see one of our Beauty Experts at a Jurlique Spa) and at home, start introducing an exfoliator into your routine regularly to remove dead skin cells, followed by a radiance-boosting serum. We recommend using our Daily Exfoliating Cream once or twice a week, followed by Herbal Recovery Signature Serum and a nourishing moisturiser, such as Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Cream.THREE MONTHS BEFOREThree months before is the time to look at your diet. Start cutting back on your alcohol intake and introduce more water, wholefoods and vegetables into your diet, and try swapping out one of your daily coffees for a green juice instead. For even more of a hydration boost, use our Rosewater Balancing Mist in your daily skincare routine (it’s also great for calming down and refreshing your skin throughout the day). And it’s not just about the face – for healthy skin head-to-toe, dry body brush and use a body moisturiser daily.ONE WEEK BEFOREThe week before your wedding, avoid salty foods and carbohydrates where possible. They can cause your body to retain water, leading to a puffy face and eyes (not what you want on the big day). To ensure you have fresh, clear skin, you should avoid sugar too. Use an intensely nourishing moisturiser at night to give skin extra hydration such as Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Cream and for any blemishes that crop up, apply Purely White Skin Brightening Spot Treatment.THE BIG DAYOn the morning of your wedding, apply a face mask to lock in hydration (our Nurturing Mask helps soften and soothe the skin) and relax! Use your regular skin care products so you’re not introducing anything new that could cause irritation and wait for your skin care to fully absorb before applying makeup. Finally, enjoy your day!

HOW TO CARE FOR DRY, SUN-DAMAGED SKIN

HOW TO CARE FOR DRY, SUN-DAMAGED SKIN

Most of us love the feel of warm sun on our skin but the reality is, exposure to the sun and harmful UVA/UVB rays can have damaging effects on the skin and is one of the primary causes of premature ageing. As much as we try to protect our skin during summer, we’re all human and slip up now and then, so no doubt you’ve suffered some degree of sun damage. If you’re at that stage, read on for our guide to help repair your skin and protect it in future. HOW SUN EXPOSURE AFFECTS THE SKINExposure to some sunlight can be beneficial, thanks to skin using sunlight to help manufacture vitamin D, which is important for bone health. But UV (or ultraviolet) rays also penetrate the outer skin layers and pass into the deeper layers, where they can damage or kill skin cells, with those with fair skin more susceptible to sun damage. Up to 80% of fine lines and wrinkles are the result of UV damage and exposure to the sun can dry out the skin. UV also causes skin sagging, blotchiness and roughness. At worst, frequent and prolonged exposure to UV rays over the years can cause skin cancer.THE SIGNS OF SUN DAMAGESun damage can be manifested in the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. To minimise this appearance and prevent further damage, focus on hydrating and protecting the skin inside and out and follow our after-sun care tips below.HOW TO TREAT DRY, SUN-DAMAGED SKIN THE NATURAL WAY 1. Use a broad-spectrum UV Defence Daily Lotion SPF 50+, even when it’s overcast. Sunscreens act as a daily shield against harmful UV rays which penetrate your skin when exposed to the sun, as well as help prevent your skin from developing fine lines and wrinkles. To increase sun protection, cover up with a hat, sunglasses and lightweight clothing.2. Keep skin hydrated with nourishing essences, serums, moisturisers and hand creams. After cleansing, apply our Activating Water Essence+ to rejuvenate skin and provide long-lasting hydration and apply an antioxidant serum such as our Herbal Recovery Bi-Phase Serum to boost skin’s radiance and protect it from environmental aggressors. The skin around the eyes is delicate and prone to the signs of sun damage so dab on an eye cream or gel suited to your skin’s needs daily.3. Increase your intake of antioxidant-rich foods such as blueberries, strawberries, kale and artichokes. Antioxidants can help fight free radicals, maintain healthy skin and prevent the appearance of wrinkles, so will give your skin the boost it needs if you’re experiencing sun damage.4. Get a skin check once a year with your local GP. Your doctor will perform a full body examination, looking for abnormal skin lesions or moles with unusual colours or shapes. For more summer skin care tips, read our guide to looking after your skin during the hotter months and shop our full range of natural-based skin care.

HOW TO STAY HYDRATED THIS SUMMER

HOW TO STAY HYDRATED THIS SUMMER

Australian summers are bliss to say the least. It’s open arms to the sun at every possible moment, endless days at the beach, afternoons sipping delicious cocktails al fresco, and nights that stay young. It all sounds so perfect, but amidst all that fun it’s very easy to quickly get dehydrated out in the sun. But there’s no need to break out in a sweat yet, we want you to be able to enjoy summer to the fullest – so we’ll share our tips for staying hydrated this summer. DRINK YOUR HYDRATION Water is a basic need for human life. Your vital organs wouldn’t be able to function without it. Water regulates your body’s temperature, gets rid of toxins and provides a moist environment for your joints. Replenishing your body with water is important especially during summer months because when the weather heats up, you become more prone to dehydration as your body loses more water than it takes in. Keep a glass or bottle of water nearby at all times – you should drink at least two litres of water a day to stay hydrated in hot weather. Feel free to switch up the ways you stay hydrated. Even though water is life’s elixir, the best hydrating drink besides water is coconut water. Coconut water is a delicious low calorie and natural option to increasing your hydrating fluid intake. Not only does it rehydrate you, it also restores your electrolytes which are lost through sweating. Carry a bottle of H2coco’s Pure Coconut Water on the way to your yoga class, or keep your fridge stocked to replenish and avoid dehydration in summer. EAT YOUR HYDRATION In summer, you’re almost spoilt for choice when it comes to seasonal fruits and vegetables. Eating foods with a high-water content is one of the best ways to stay hydrated without drinking water. Cut up some watermelons and toss them through a summery fruit salad with other high-water content fruits like strawberries, rockmelon, grapes, peaches and pineapples. You can also feed two birds with one scone by eating vegetables with high-water content to help satisfy your nutrient recommendations and keep you hydrated. Vegetables such as celery, cucumber, tomato, spinach and iceberg lettuce contain over ninety percent of water. KEEP YOUR HYDRATION Naturally when you’re hydrated, your skin glows from within. The best way to keep that supple skin hydrated is to use lightweight water-based products. In warmer weather your pores are more open, so you don’t want to smother your face with heavy products. Add our Activating Water Essence+ into your beauty ritual to activate your skin’s ability to retain moisture. To keep your skin refreshed and still moisturised, the best moisturiser to use for summer is our Rare Rose Lotion which works to hydrate and restore the natural glow to your skin. The final step to locking in all that glow is a hydrating facial mist. The best face mist for summer should refresh and balance out your skin. Try our Sweet Violet & Grapefruit Hydrating Mist for instant hydration. Keep a bottle in your fridge or and pop one into your bag for when you need to soothe and refresh your skin on a hot summer’s day.

NEW YEAR, NEW SKIN RESOLUTIONS

NEW YEAR, NEW SKIN RESOLUTIONS

At the beginning of January, we all have the best intentions: go the gym more, cut down on those glasses of red, get eight hours’ every night without fail…Relaxing spa day at homeBut for us, one of the best (and easiest) things you can do is vow to make 2020 the year to turn your skin care up a notch. After the holiday season you might be feeling the effects of too many late nights and overdoing it on the food and alcohol – and no doubt it’s starting to show up on your skin. help your skin recover and get your best skin yet with our seven new year skin care resolutions that are so good you’ll actually want to stick to them.Be gentle with your skinWe all know that well-worn phrase ‘new year, new me’. It can be tempting to completely overhaul your skin care ritual at the start of a new year but introducing lots of new products at once can do more harm than good and cause irritation. Introduce any new products gradually to allow your skin to adjust and always choose natural-based products instead of harsh synthetics. Give your skin a bit of TLC with a blend of gentle cleansers, nourishing serums and rich moisturisers suited to your skin concern.Up your exfoliation gameExfoliating 1-2 times a week is essential for revitalising your skin and restoring its natural glow. But how many of us actually stick to a regular exfoliation routine? Make 2020 the year of the face scrub (we love our Daily Exfoliating Cream for a gentle formula that’s kind even to sensitive skin) to reveal your best skin yet. Read our guide to face scrubs to find out how exfoliating can help improve your skin.Incorporate anti-ageingOur skin starts to age when we reach our mid-20s, so it’s never too early to start investing in natural anti-ageing skin care to reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark spots and uneven skin texture. We need different formulas at different stages of our lives, so reaching for the generic anti-ageing cream won’t cut it. If you’re in your late 20s and 30s, chances are you’re starting to see the first signs of ageing (dullness, dryness, fatigue and fine lines), so we recommend using our Herbal Recovery range at this stage. If you’re in your 40s and 50s, we recommend our Nutri-Define range, which effectively targets advanced signs of ageing such as sagging skin, deep lines and wrinkles and improves skin elasticity in the face.Add an eye creamAre you using eye care yet? The skin around our eyes is delicate and thin, so needs special formulas to look after it. Make 2020 the year that you use an eye cream or gel morning and night: bonus points if it has firming and brightening properties, such as our Purely White Skin Brightening Eye Correcting Cream.Use an SPFThe sun’s harmful rays can do more damage to your skin than anything else. Protect your skin from UV damage by wearing an SPF every day, regardless of the weather. This is particularly important after you’ve exfoliated, which can enhance your skin’s vulnerability to UV damage. Apply your SPF after moisturiser but before makeup. Look after your skin from withinLooking for a new year skin detox? Healthy skin starts with a healthy lifestyle. Keep skin hydrated by drinking 2L of water every day and make sure your skin is getting the nutrients it needs with wholefoods, healthy fats and meals rich in fibre (read our guide to eating your way to radiant skin for nutritious ways to improve your diet). Try and get at least half an hour of movement every day (a walk at lunch time is a great way to get moving – and clear your head) and those coveted eight hours of sleep every night.Practice self-careThe new year is a good time to set good intentions for the months to come, and that includes taking time for yourself. Try aromatherapy, meditation or create your own relaxing spa day at home to help restore and rebalance the mind.

HOW AUSTRALIAN BRANDS ARE LEADING THE WAY WITH SUSTAINABLE, ECO-FRIENDLY BEAUTY PRODUCTS

HOW AUSTRALIAN BRANDS ARE LEADING THE WAY WITH SUSTAINABLE, ECO-FRIENDLY BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Perhaps it’s the ‘Greta Thunberg effect’, or first-hand experiences of the effects of climate change, but collectively, we’re more conscious of our impact on the environment than ever before – most notably seen in the 7.6 million people around the globe who protested for climate action at the now-famous climate strikes during September 2019. At Jurlique, sustainability has always been at the heart of we do – it’s part of the reason we have a biodynamic* farm to grow our botanicals and we’re striving to make changes wherever possible to reduce our environmental impact. It’s not just us, either. We’re inspired by fellow Australian brands who are leading the way and flying the flag for sustainable beauty – ensuring that we don’t just look after ourselves, but we look after the planet too. That’s why beauty brand IMBIBE, which produces bio-fermented and bio-active health supplements (think collagen powders and multi-strain probiotics designed to improve skin health) continues to be a source of inspiration for us. Here’s how we’re both working towards more sustainable practices. INGREDIENTSAt Jurlique, we grow most of our botanicals on our biodynamic* farm in South Australia. We believe biodynamic* farming practices help us to grow the purest, best quality herbs we can which are hand harvested at a time when they’re full of life and vitality. These herbs are then utilised to make extracts that form the basis of Jurlique products, meaning you get the best from each ingredient we use. And it’s not just your skin. We believe by following biodynamic* farming techniques, we’re harnessing all the positive, living energies from Nature, as well as farming in the most sustainable way possible (find out more about our sustainable farming practices here). As for IMBIBE, the brand doesn’t use any fillers, fake flavourings or ingredients that they can’t pronounce, ensuring that they know what we are consuming into our bodies. RECYCLABLE PACKAGINGSince 2016, we’ve changed the packaging materials of our best-selling hand creams from aluminium to plastic tubes, which has led to an approximately 28% lower impact on our environment. We are also actively looking into ways to reduce the amount of material we use and increase the use of recyclable skin care packaging in order to reduce our carbon footprint. In partnership with global recycling pioneers Terracycle, we encourage our customers to recycle their empty Jurlique products via post or in our Jurlique standalone boutiques across Australia. All empty Jurlique packaging including pump bottles of Rosewater Balancing Mist, droppers and sachet foil wrappings can be recycled! Since initiating this program, we have collected 22,000 units (or 0.5 tonnes) of packaging. IMBIBE has been offering products such as its Miracle Collagen and Beauty Renewal Probiotic Supplement in glass jars and is soon moving onto fully certified compostable packaging. They are also reducing waste and plastic, meaning there will no longer be a scoop included in the Collagen Jars, nor a measuring cup with the Beauty Renewal. And if you find yourself in the Byron Bay area, you can pop into the IMBIBE warehouse anytime with your existing container for a refill to reduce packaging consumption even further. THE CARBON CYCLEWe care for our planet. Our goal is to analyse and reduce our environmental impact through the whole supply chain. We have moved the majority of our shipment from air-freight to sea-freight, which offers significant emissions savings. Since 2015, this freight management initiative has enabled us to reduce approximately 20% of emissions from transport. At IMBIBE, the brand uses 100% compostable and biodegradable packing for shipping all online orders. If you do receive a parcel from IMBIBE that contains soft plastics, it’s from goods they have received and re-used. Additionally, they send their orders using a carbon neutral courier service. We may still be far away from saving the planet and there’s a lot more we can do, but we’re committed to improving our sustainability practices and championing the other eco-friendly beauty brands that are doing the same. We hope that you, as a consumer, take action and support sustainable beauty and skin care products with us.

WHAT IS COMBINATION SKIN, AND HOW SHOULD YOU CARE FOR IT?

WHAT IS COMBINATION SKIN, AND HOW SHOULD YOU CARE FOR IT?

If your skin is oily in some places, tight and dry in others, you likely have combination skin. Typically, combination skin is oily across the T-zone (nose, chin and forehead) and dry everywhere else. Sounds a little bit like a facial jigsaw puzzle but don’t fret, you’re in the right place! Caring for combination skin is sort of like a balancing act - if you tip the scales too much on one side your skin may end up stripped of all its natural moisture, then if you tip too much the other way, your skin may go into oil overdose trying to make up for lost moisture. But we won’t let you get to that point; these steps will guide you to your best skin yet. 1. A CLEAN SLATE Cleansing your skin with a mild cream or gel-based cleanser will work to delicately lift impurities without stripping your skin of its natural moisture and oils. It’s best to look for natural ingredients that nourish your skin while it cleanses. Our Revitalising Cleansing Gel is packed with potent botanicals that transforms into a rich lather and utilises micellar technology to deeply and effectively cleanse your skin without tipping its natural balance. 2. ALL ABOUT BALANCE Our skin is naturally designed to ward of the effects of environmental stresses. Its ability to do so is determined by something called a pH level. If your pH levels are balanced, then your skin is able to protect itself more effectively. This is where toner comes in. Adding a natural toner like our Rosewater Balancing Mist to your skin care ritual will assist in restoring your skin’s pH levels, protect your skin from external aggressors, and hydrate with minimising oil. 3. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS It’s challenging to moisturise combination skin without clogging pores. This is because you’re dealing with two skin types that require different levels of moisture. Most moisturisers are formulated for either dry or oily skin. So be wise and moisturise. On the drier parts of your face, use a rich cream or lotion. We recommend our Moisture Replenishing Day Cream as it’ll deliver hydration that leaves your skin soft and comfortable. For the oiler parts of your face, stick to more lightweight lotion and gel consistencies. Our Rare Rose Lotion will refresh and rebalance your skin’s moisture levels to fight oiliness for a shine-free finish. 4. MASK Having combination skin doesn’t mean you’re exempt from treating your skin with a mask. Use masks a few times a week to target specific concerns. A mask like our Hydrating Mask will give your dry areas a boost of hydration and seal in moisture.

10 IN-FLIGHT SKIN CARE SECRETS

10 IN-FLIGHT SKIN CARE SECRETS

When you think of travelling, you immediately imagine endless afternoons lying on a beach in the Maldives. You dream of roaming the galleries and museums in Paris. You can feel the sunny days exploring the streets of Positano in sandal-clad feet. But before you get to that part, you’re sitting on your suitcase trying to zip it up and considering sacrificing your skincare beauty pouch for a perfectly planned outfit. Of course, there are a handful of items you’ll inevitably have to leave behind or forget, but don’t let your skincare be it!Does flying affect your skin? Yes! Is there a way to combat it? Yes! Something they don’t tell you about airplanes is that the air in the cabins are practically moisture free. Recycled cabin air is around 55% drier than normal air. What this means for your skin is that all the goodness in your skin cells that keeps your skin plump and hydrated is being sucked dry into a prune state! Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist Intense Deluxe Edition and Jurlique Rose Luxe Edition Hand Cream next to painting The good news is whether you’re jetting off to Europe for a month-long vacation or down to Byron Bay for a quick weekend getaway with the girls, we’ve got the ultimate list of airplane skincare tips:1. REMOVE YOUR MAKEUPA dry cabin environment + makeup clogging your pores = skin irritation and breakouts. That’s an equation you definitely don’t want happening. Carry a hydrating face wash that won’t leave your skin feeling tight and overly stripped like our Radiant Skin Foaming Cleanser. If you can’t leave your seat, pour a few drops of our Nourishing Cleansing Oil onto a cotton round and gently swipe across your face. Finish off with a makeup wipe until the wipes come out clean. Read more on cleansing oils here (no link yet). 2. PUT ON A SHEET MASKThink of this skincare routine as a self-care ritual too. You have X hours of uninterrupted time so treat yourself. With clean hands, put on a hydrating sheet mask when the cabin lights have dimmed and enter into relaxation mode. 3. PAT IN A SERUM TO HYDRATE AND PROTECT THE SKINThe theme here is, skin hydration, and there’s no such thing as getting too much of it. One of the ways to hydrate your skin is to use a hydrating serum that’ll provide long-lasting hydration and protection from dehydration. To refresh and hydrate your skin use our Moisture Plus Rare Rose Serum for a deliverance of hydration throughout your flight journey. 4. APPLY A MOISTURISERLock in all that hydrating goodness with a moisturiser. Our Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Cream is perfect for the job! Packed with powerful botanicals, your skin will feel rejuvenated, nourished and deeply hydrated with its light, yet rich texture. 5. DAB ON EYE CREAMSometimes it’s hard to catch up on well-deserved beauty sleep when you’re on the plane. Our Herbal Recovery Signature Eye Gel visibly brightens your eye area and reduces the signs of puffiness and fatigue. 6. MIST THROUGHOUT THE FLIGHTThe best face mist for flying is a refreshing face mist that’ll refresh and balance your skin out. Your parched skin will drink up Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist. It’s not only going to pamper and deeply nourish your skin, but also improve your skin’s barrier function. 7. SWIPE ON LIP BALM REGULARLYMake sure your chapped lips are not the first impression you make on the new city you step into! The perfect lip balm should protect and hydrate. Lucky for you, we have the perfect one. Our Jurlique Rose Love Balm can also be used on your cuticles, elbows and other dry patches to protect against the notorious in-flight moisture loss. 8. APPLY HAND CREAMYour hands aren’t immune from the effects of the superdy cabin. One of the most underrated yet best beauty products for air travel is hand cream. Thanks to the roses’ natural-based antioxidant properties, the best hand cream to hydrate your dry hands is Jurlique’s cult classic, Rose Hand Cream. A little goes a long way - the rich buttery texture absorbs in seconds so it won’t leave greasy fingerprints over your iPad. Bonus: at 40mL, it’s minuscule enough to perfectly chuck into your carry on. 9. DRINK A TON OF WATERKeep your hydration levels up! When you’re hydrated inside, it’s easier for your skin to remain hydrated and supple as well. Try to avoid alcohol and caffeine as they deplete your body of H20. Dehydration is one of the most common reasons your skin feels horrible after a flight. 10. AVOID SALTY AND PROCESSED FOODSExcess salt and processed foods can cause puffiness, especially puffy eyes. Pack some of your own snacks for the journey, or stick to lighter options on the menu. BONUS TIP!A little de-germing routine should fit nicely into your skin care routine; after all, the start of having the best skincare for travel is having clean hands. Once your in-flight skin care routine is complete, don’t touch your face! Planes are full of germs, and this will reduce the chance of you transferring bacteria to your skin. Wash your hands and or/use hand sanitiser before eating and after touching anything – from your tray table to the overhead locker.

FIVE VEGAN RECIPES YOU NEED TO TRY

FIVE VEGAN RECIPES YOU NEED TO TRY

Veganism is now the talk of the town and let’s face it, the world (literally) - the vegan hashtag has a huge 87.3 million posts on Instagram. This is also reflected in the vegan food business exploding - sales rose 10 times faster than other foods in the USA. This cultural shift could be attributed to documentaries on Netflix, such as What the Health and The Game Changers - which had everyone talking. But not just talking but looking for a huge shift in their diets and what they consume (and with good reason). There are reportedly numerous benefits for going vegan, from health reasons such as reducing cancer, to how great it is for the environment. Another added bonus? It’s also supposed to be great for your skin. In plant-based diets, there’s thought to be increased levels of vitamins and antioxidants, which are associated with glowing skin. Vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes, peppers, plums and carrots contain carotenoids (the oranges, reds and yellows pigments), which when eaten regularly can help boost your own skin’s brightness. Antioxidants from a plant-based diet can also combat acne, help reduce inflammation and slows down the ageing process.     But it doesn’t have to be all or nothing when opting for a vegan diet. One of the easier ways of incorporating into your life? Make it gradual - opting for #MeatFreeMondays, rather than making a huge lifestyle change. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite (and easy-to-make) vegan recipes, which are so good, they might have you making even more plant-based decisions in your daily meal choices. Watermelon Acai Bowl - this is a great way to start the day and pack in the fruit. We love this variation with watermelon - a feast for the eyes and the mouth. Cauliflower Buffalo Wings - if you’re a fan of chicken and not entirely sure how to replace it, then this recipe might be for you. There’s also a vegan ranch dip which sounds absolutely delicious. Balsamic Mushrooms, with Kale - all hail the kale. This superfood is also super tasty and when paired with balsamic roasted mushrooms and mashed potato, it’s even more heavenly.     Chickpea Brownies - if you have a sweet tooth, then you’re going to love these gluten-free vegan brownies. Will anyone truly believe they’re made from chickpeas? We can’t wait to make this recipe. Vegan chilli - sometimes after a long work day, the last thing you want to do is cook. But, this easy-to-make vegan chilli is the ideal option for a week-day dinner. It’s also very helpful for batch lunch cooking. Eating vegan is much easier than you think and there are plenty of food options out there, which act as natural swaps for meat and dairy-based meals. With so many beauty, health and environmental benefits, it’s a great way to feel and look good too.
